“Path of Light” 36x48 Oil on Canvas $2,950 I began this piece by playing around with brilliant fall colors. Because it was so splashy and chaotic, I begin to skim lighter colors over it in an attempt to unify the piece. I love to play around with light, and in this case the light became a path leading into the painting., perhaps toward enlightenment? The piece was still quite chaotic until I added the blue on either side, which completed it.

“Interwoven Lives” 36x36Oil on Canvas $2,250 This piece began with the feel of a weaving, with colors as threads. I was pondering how our lives are interwoven with those of the people around us. The piece was quite advanced when I put it aside for awhile. When I looked at it again I could see that it was a cityscape, and where are people’s lives more interwoven than in a city where they are in constant contact with the people around them? This was an interesting development that happened without intention. It gives me an aesthetic thrill when something like this appears from somewhere outside myself.
