I began this piece by playing around with brilliant fall colors. Because it was so splashy and chaotic, I begin to skim lighter colors over it in an attempt to unify the piece. I love to play around with light, and in this case the light became a path leading into the painting., perhaps toward enlightenment? The piece was still quite chaotic until I added the blue on either side, which completed it.
